While the vehicle is being driven, Sonar Telematics provides frequent GPS updates based on movement, distance traveled, turns, and driving activity, giving you a near real-time view of your vehicle's location.

What happens if a guest unplugs the GPS tracker?

Sonar Telematics can detect when the device is unplugged. You can configure alerts to be sent by email and push notification, helping you quickly identify when the tracker has been disconnected from the vehicle.

Can I hide the GPS tracker in my Turo vehicle?

Yes. We offer an optional OBD-II Y-Splitter that allows the GPS tracker to be installed behind the dashboard while keeping the vehicle's original OBD-II port accessible.

Can Sonar Telematics tell me how fast my Turo guest is driving?

Yes. Sonar Telematics provides both the vehicle’s real-time speed and the posted speed limit for the road it’s traveling on. You can also configure customizable speeding alerts to be notified when a vehicle exceeds your selected speed threshold.

Yes. Unlike GPS-only trackers, Sonar Telematics can read supported vehicle data directly through the OBD-II port. Depending on the vehicle, this may include check-engine codes, fuel level, battery voltage, coolant temperature, RPM, and other engine information.

Can Sonar Telematics alert me if my vehicle is overheating?

Yes. On supported vehicles, Sonar Telematics can monitor engine coolant temperature and alert you when it exceeds a threshold you configure. This can help you identify potential overheating while the vehicle is being driven and take action before the issue becomes more serious.

Can I see my Turo vehicle's fuel level remotely?

On supported vehicles, yes. Sonar Telematics can display fuel-level information and notify you when fuel drops below a threshold you choose. Vehicle data availability varies by make, model, year, and powertrain.

Yes. Sonar Telematics is built for hosts managing anything from a single vehicle to larger fleets. You can view your vehicles on one map, review trips, manage alerts, create reports, and give team members access from the same platform.
